Called to Serve?

“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”  John 12:26

Are you called to serve?  If so, in what way?

The Lord Jesus, while walking on earth, taught His followers about serving others in many ways.  He taught by example such as feeding the hungry, teaching and educating the curious about the kingdom of heaven, and washing the dirty feet of men.

His ultimate act of service was to do the will of His Father by offering His life as a substitute sacrifice for the sins of mankind which only He could do. “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Php 2:8

You and I are called to serve in other ways. It all begins in the heart.

“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,” (Mathew 20:28) we are to be willing to serve the Lord by serving others, putting them first.
